Dear Parents,
As you may know, the Zachary community and Zachary High School recently suffered the tragic loss of one of our students, Marcell Franklin. Marcell was a vibrant and outgoing 15 year old young lady who was well-liked by her teachers and peers. The faculty, staff, and students of ZHS, and the entire Zachary Community School District, have come together to show our love and support for Marcell’s family in an outpouring of thoughts, prayers, and kind words of comfort. In addition, a district-wide Free Dress Day in Marcell’s honor was held on Tuesday, April 1st, in an effort to raise funds for the family. ZHS students and faculty gave over $4,000, the largest donation of any free dress day in ZHS history. Thank you for teaching your children how important it is to help those in need. Please continue to help your children deal with this traumatic event, and please keep Marcell’s family in your thoughts and prayers.
