Beginning Women’s Choir

This one-year course is a non-auditioned choir that is designed for all female students in any grade that are new to ZHS choir.  The choir focuses a large amount of time on sightreading skills and performs a wide variety of music throughout the year including classical, spirituals, jazz, and musical theater.

Women’s Chorale

This one-year course is an auditioned choir that is designed for any female student that has had at least one year of choir at Zachary High School.  The choir performs a wide variety of music throughout the year including classical, spirituals, jazz, and musical theater.

A Cappella Choir

This one-year course is an auditioned choir that is designed for advanced male and female students that have had at least one year of choir at Zachary High School.  All men that are interested in choir will select this group.  The choir performs a wide variety of music throughout the year including classical, spirituals, jazz, and musical theater.

Bronco Beat

This is an ensemble which is auditioned out of the A Cappella Choir that meets after school.  The group is 12-20 singers that perform vocal jazz, show choir, and madrigals.  The group performs for community and school events.

Music Appreciation

This one-semester course is designed for students that have an interest in expanding their knowledge of music.  This course will provide students with an historical perspective of music, covering a variety of styles and developments from the Middle Ages through the current age. Students will acquire basic knowledge and listening skills, making future music experiences more informed and satisfying.
