Incoming Freshman Prior to 2008-2009

ENGLISH                                          4 Units
Must be I, II, III, and IV or Senior Applications in English

MATHEMATICS                             3 Units

SCIENCE                                          3 Units
Must be Biology plus two additional science courses

SOCIAL STUDIES                          3 Units
Must be American History, Civics, Free Enterprise and one additional social studies course

PHYSICAL EDUCATION             1½ Units
The substitution of ROTC is permissible.

The remaining unit shall come from the following:
Financial Mathematics, Senior Applications in Math,
Advanced Mathematics I, Advanced Mathematics II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Probability and Statistics, Discrete Mathematics, or a locally-initiated elective approved by BESE as a math substitute.

Science

4 units

Biology
Chemistry
2 units from the following courses:
Physical Science, Physics, Biology II, Chemistry II,
Earth Science, Environmental Science, Agriscience II, Anatomy and Physiology, or a locally initiated elective approved by BESE as a science substitute.

  • Agriscience I is a prerequisite for Agriscience II and
      is an elective course.

A student completing a Career and Technical Area of Concentration may substitute a BESE/Board of Regents approved IBC-related course from within the student's Area of Concentration for the 4th required science unit

Social Studies

Civics
Free Enterprise
American History
1 unit from the following:
World History, World Geography
1 unit from the following:
World History, World Geography, Law Studies, Psychology, Sociology
